Firehouse Fires Up EG Conference Attendees

PaulPicEG11Since 2006, the EG Conference has possibly been “…the best-kept secret in the world of conferencing.” The annual gathering showcases “…inventors, educators, artists and designers, writers and thinkers, scientists and engineers, musicians, magicians, the young and old, the famous and the undiscovered.”

Firehouse has produced graphics for the last three EG Conferences and we were pleased to add our printing expertise to EG 2015. We partnered with EG to create a wide variety of graphics for their reception hall. It showcased many of the conference’s presenters and served to whet the appetites of attendees.

Firehouse printed tyvek banners mounted to standing hardware and hanging from the ceiling. Wall mounted graphics included canvas prints and textured vinyl. We also produced tabletops with laminated PSV and dye sub direct to wood. The collection of print technologies and styles on display was as eclectic as the EG 2015 presenters.

“All of the reproductions were delivered on-time and were spectacular—beautifully printed—perfectly mounted—flawless. I look forward to using your reliable expertise in our venue.”

Case Study: Doctors Express Urgent Care

PaulPicDoctorsExpressLogoDoctors Express Urgent Care is a new business in Indianapolis providing convenient, walk in medical care. They wanted to make a strong visual statement with their first location. Firehouse recommended a durable window mesh material on all nine exterior windows for dramatic impact and to help drive traffic to their door by highlighting their extended hours and no need for an appointment. The mesh allows a full window graphic without restricting the view from inside.

DoctorsExpress03A second location opened in January and that graphic success will likely be carried forward with all future locations.

“I like the graphics very much and feel they meet a huge ‘street visibility’ need for our first location. That added visibility is key for me. The service, guidance and technical support provided by Ted at Firehouse and others was huge in deciding what type of window wrap to use and why. I am very happy with the entire job – quality, speed, etc.”

Case Study: Butler University’s Hinkle Fieldhouse

PaulPicButler01Butler University in Indianapolis is home to one of college sports most historic venues. Hinkle Fieldhouse was the largest basketball arena in the country when it was constructed in 1928. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1987. In 2011, a major renovation was begun. Upgrades included the main entrance, improved seating, a new video board and new locker rooms. In addition to facilities
improvements, Butler wanted to celebrate their history with
grand-format graphic installations throughout the complex. Firehouse offered up a variety of graphic solutions to integrate with the historic structure.

“Firehouse did an outstanding job on a number of projects associated with the Hinkle Fieldhouse renovation. Given our experience working with them over the years we knew what to expect: they were creative, detail oriented and organized throughout the whole project.”
Mike Freeman
Associate Athletic Director – External Operations

Butler02Butler04Butler05Firehouse partnered with Butler to produce and install a variety of graphics throughout the Fieldhouse. The main entry corridor has
the Butler name and historic photos reproduced on mesh banner
and installed within the steel support trusses. Hallway walls were
first refinished with a smooth board and then wallpapered with
historic team photos. A 100-foot-long mural celebrates the history of the Butler Bulldogs. It is mounted directly to the corridor wall with concrete PSV.

“We could not have picked a better partner than Firehouse for our graphics and imaging for Hinkle Fieldhouse. Firehouse blew our expectations out of the water. We look forward to showing off the work Firehouse completed for many years to come.”
Carl Heck
Associate Athletic Director – Internal Operations

Butler03The $36 million renovation took several years to complete. The goal of upgrading the fan experience was realized without losing or compromising the history. The graphics integrate perfectly with the structure.
